it's not a big deal really. it's just the bearings in the pedal that are fucked up, or missing. i suppose it's better to replace it sooner, since it will gradually work less and less, but it's no major issue.
thats what steve said it might be. I have a free tune-up coupon to retro city cycles, i figure I'll just use that to get it fixed, eventually, since I'm flat broke. Although I'm sure there's some hidden fee in there somewhere.
